Many U.S. citizens seem content in crossing the border to obtain all sort of professional services and medicines for diverse ailments. Tijuana seems to be a haven for these types of purposes. Recently, a Latina went to Tijuana for an eye operation. She saved a couple grand right there. She was impressed with the results (she does not have to use prescription lenses anymore). Her views changed. She now admitted Tijuana was not a whore-laden city of crime and druglords, but a community with the same services offered in San Diego, but at lower rates. She said she was grateful for my advice. Before she was a racist Latina, that openly said she would not visit Mexico never again. Now she was grateful.
